Mt. Baldy Contra Dance Weekend

April 5 - 7, Friday - Sunday, 2013

Come join us for a weekend of contra dancing and mountain sports on the slopes of Mount Baldy, in the San Gabriel Mountains (30 miles east of Los Angeles).

The camp is held at beautiful Harwood Lodge, a Sierra Club facility north of Claremont, California.

The dance schedule allows time for outdoor activities, such as hiking, mountain biking, or skiing (snow permitting).  At the lodge, you can enjoy in music jams (bring your instruments!), dance workshops, or quiet time.

Dancing

Lively Contra Dances will be held in the grand, yet intimate Harwood Lodge beginning Friday evening through Sunday morning.

As part of the weekend package, attendees are invited to attend the sing-a-long music jam, potluck.

Accommodations

Sierra Club Harwood Lodge is a beautiful stone lodge with a large dance room and wood floor.  The lodge also has a dining / lounge area with a large fireplace, and a full kitchen. 

Two sleeping dorms on the top floor each contain about forty bunk beds.  You will have plenty of room to spread out in dorms.  If you prefer to sleep outside the lodge, there is space for small RVs, tent camping, or sleeping under the stars on the porch.

Lodging is provided on Friday night and Saturday night.

Meals

Friday night is a potluck; bring your favorite food to share.  Meals are provided starting with Saturday breakfast through Sunday lunch.
